Aim
The aim of this website ‘The Acute Mind’ is not to teach you medicine or throw factual knowledge at you but to explore CR frameworks and show how it is applied across clinical cases.
I hope to keep it as interactive as possible hence please feel free to comment, discuss or leave feedback!
I have found throughout my training that I learn best through conditioned learning – observing & absorbing how decisions are made by consultants & senior doctors in clinical cases. I hope that through exploring the application of CR in clinical cases in this website – you may learn & develop in the same way!
So without any further ado, please move onto the Clinical Reasoning Frameworks to start your conditioned learning and thank you for reading!

Also a few fun quotes on what medicine should be!
‘Pragmatic, holistic, structured medicine with a touch of Dr Gregory House (but with the communication skills)’
‘A footballer manager focuses not on the goal but on the play leading up to the goal and in such a way, a good physician should focus not on the diagnosis but on the management process leading up to the diagnosis’
‘An architect cannot build a house without structure and a good physician cannot build a diagnosis without structure’
‘Medicine isn’t about knowing everything – it’s about thinking clearly when things aren’t clear’
