About
My name is Jin Ha Kim and I am a Consultant in Acute Medicine working in Queen Elizabeth Hospital (University Hospital Birmingham Trust).
I first developed an interest in Clinical Reasoning (CR) during the latter years of my Registrar training. As clinicians, we often focus on our medical knowledge to get us through our clinical practice. In my YouTube channel ‘Medical Shortcuts’, I focus on Clinical Approach – applying knowledge clinically.
We live in an increasingly ‘grey’ world with rising frailty, multi-morbidity, NHS pressures, diagnostic dilemmas & social shifts alongside AI advances.
The emergence of multi-pathology (‘not fitting to one specialty’), rising need for front door clinicians, pragmatic use of resources & holistic care and AI availability (‘knowledge in our fingertips’) means focusing on CR is becoming ever more important!
Through this site (which incorporates the Friday CR sessions in AMU), I hope to share my CR with all of you so we may become better equipped clinicians of today & tomorrow for our patients!
